The History of

The Middletown Ranch of Pomo Indians

of California

Our tribe carries a rich heritage, descended from a strong people that for thousands of years have inhabited Northern California.

1910

The Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California was established with five original families and the purchase of 108 acres about 90 miles northeast of San Francisco.

1935

On June 8, 1935, the Middletown Rancheria Tribal Members voted at a Special Election called by the United States Secretary of the Interior to accept the terms of the Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934.  The Tribe's official records, dated September 1946, reside with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Central Office, Office of Tribal Relations, who identifies the names of Indian Tribes, Bands and Communities who received federal recognition and sovereign status.

1994

The Tribe began operating Twin Pine Casino in Nov 1994 in a modest modular building to ensure prosperity and a greater quality of life for the Tribal Membership.

2000

The Casino moves into a temporary sprung structure, which was developed, constructed and independently funded by the Tribe.

2008

The Tribe began its first phase of expansion of the gaming facility into a permanent structure. In 2008 the Casino was completed and opens for business. In 2009 the hotel was opened. Twin Pine Casino & Hotel was born!

2014

Today there are 123 adult members and 91 minors; all recognized members of the Tribe, consisting of about 25 families that reside locally throughout California and the entire United States. This year we are proud to be celebrating 20 years of success with Twin Pine Casino & Hotel.
